Rejoice! Harvesting has started. It’s unfortunate we are not going to see you again this year due to the pandemic. We hope to see you next year…
At METAD, every year, we work hard and celebrate two cyclic milestones: Sowing and Harvesting-the cycle that impacts millions and ensures “Sustainability at its Best!”
At our core business, here at METAD, we harvest the finest coffees from ours and 12,500+ out-growers farms every year and deliver to our coffee lovers throughout the world who depend on and look for our exceptional coffees. We are in the harvest season now (although, Hambela is lagging & harvesting has delayed by a couple of weeks due to weather pattern changes). We cherish this season for many reasons. Above all, it’s the season we see our out-growers/partners every day, harvest & process organic ripe red cherries, see our partners’ faces smile when their hard works are rewarded monetarily with premium payments.
During this season, our farms and processing sites operate 24/7. Our management team and supporting staff from the HQ in Addis gather at our Hambela and Yirgacheffe (Gedeb) Estates to ensure QUALITY right from harvesting and processing activities.
In no more than 3 months time, our selection of exceptional coffees will be there at your doorsteps!
Obviously, we plant coffee seedlings; we don’t sow them😍
What do we sow then? It’s love & compassion ❤
The communities that grow our QUALITY coffees have their own challenges beyond the daily farming. Basic Health Provision and Education are at the highest demand. Indeed, both have been at the top of our agenda. We have been investing millions towards social developmental works that extend from provision of school materials to building schools, healthcare facilities, community center and constructing roads, as well as providing with university scholarships to disadvantaged students.
We sow sustainable development. The recently completed and started community projects tell the story, but more precisely our journey.
